That’s almost certainly a Winchester stock just judging by the V-cut. Personally I wouldn’t remove the ferrule as it probably has a peened screw....

Hornady’s 150/155 grain bullet load data is in fact pretty mild and it doesn’t include IMR 4895 or 4064, which I find a little odd. Their max loads...Last edited by martindc1; 05-30-2023, 07:59 AM.

It is more than likely a slower lot of IMR4895, if it were me I’d just dump it into primed brass, seat the bullet, and enjoy....

The painted op rods and gas cylinders look better with use, but otherwise I agree. IMO as far as finish goes, it’s hard to beat the 60’s rebuilds....
